Annual Registration - Applications for registration and renewal of registration lodged from 1 July 2024 will have a one year registration period.
Historical names - From 1 July, we will be collecting historical names from new applicants and renewing tax practitioners and will publish these historical names on the TPB Public Register, in accordance with the requirements of the new regulations, when they take effect. For more information refer to the Exposure Draft regulations on the Treasury website.
Processing Times - We are experiencing a high volume of new applications. We generally aim to process all applications within 30 days of receiving a complete application, however it may take up to 60 days when we receive high volumes of applications. Please ensure that your application is complete with all the information required to assess the application.
Multi-factor authentication - Every time you login to MyProfile, you will be taken through the multi-factor authentication (MFA) process. MFA provides a way of verifying your details when you log into your online accounts. Our video and FAQs explain how the MFA process works when you create or login to your My Profile account.
Proof of identity - All registered individual tax and BAS agents, and those applying to register with us, must complete a one-off proof of identity (POI) process. This process helps protect your personal information and aligns with Australian Government standards. Watch our video to understand how the process works.
